Sometimes it is just better to declare victory even if you have not finished what you initially set out to do. Okay so what is it that EndorphinGirl™ has declared premature victory on bloggee may ask. It is this recent WholeLifeChallenge http://www.wholelifechallenge.com/that she undertook for a second time. For reasons unbeknownst to EndorphinGirl™ she is not feeling it this second go around. While for the most part she is still trying to adhere to the daily challenges, which are generally important (plenty of water, exercise, stretching, journaling, supplements and a surprise weekly challenge), she is not necessarily doing it as part of the WLC. On the one hand, she wonders why the last go around the challenge was not ‘sustainable’. Right!? Why did she have to do it again? But on the other hand that is not really fair too, because she really does enjoy this focused challenge – and well sometimes things just get in the way. She realized however that since she is not feeling it and rather off schedule that it was time to declare a premature victory. So consider victory declared! Onwards, until the next time she sets out to do another WLC or some other challenge. Don’t sweat the small stuff, move on and find another challenge that will give you a good endorphin sweat!
The runtheedge http://www.runtheedge.com/challenge, however, the one with her peeps, is going pretty strong. They just completed the second month of the ‘run 2,015 miles’ in 2015. As blogged last month, the EndorphinFamily™ collectively clocked (ran) 160.05 miles in January and recently collectively completed 98.86 miles in February. Year-to-date, they have collectively clocked 258.91 miles. Bring it on March. EndorphinSon™ named their monthly goal for March, which is to collectively run 200 miles. It is 31 more miles than they should run on average each month. Let’s see where they land. Oh, and if you are wondering about the individual mileage, stay tuned for it; it will be shared at the end of the first quarter! Meanwhile, they are almost 13 percent complete! Hoot, hoo!
EndorphinDaughter™ is down under. She is having the time of her life. Fortunately, she has landed there during the Australian summer months. Fortunately, she had opportunity to do some fun summer things prior to the start of classes. Yeah, these summer things are very much in the endorphin zone and included a chance to scuba dive, snorkel, climb the Habour Bridge and jump out of a freakin’ airplane, tandem style. Quite the experiences! And yes, EndorphinGirl™ was rather relieved to only learn about the endorphin plane experience after the fact.
Meanwhile, in the other hemisphere – the one where EndorphinGirl™ lives, the WINTER season lingers on. Winter Schminter! EndorphinGirl™ has been inspired by her friend Mel in conquering some of the weather nuisance by also becoming an all season CitiBiker. Mel mentioned she biked throughout the WINTERY WINTER last year to/fro work; she thought “it was better to ride for 10 minutes in that crazy weather than to walk for 30 minutes in it”. Great advice. EndorphinGirl™ has followed it completely these past WINTERY WINTER weeks. Thanks Mel.
This week’s EndorphinGirl™ image shows EndorphinGirl™ to be a winner. Yeah, even with declaring victory early,
EndorphinGirl™’s son made her a winner. Nice.
Blogging off for now and until next time guest comments always welcome in guestbook and keep on endorphin’.
