EndorphinGirl™ and EndorphinSon™ had quite the running weekend this past weekend.  They contributed to their monthly miles for runtheedge http://www.runtheedge.com/2014/12/run-2015-in-2015-challenge/ by participating in a mini marathon of mini marathons.  More precisely, on Friday evening they joined the 2015 Superhero 5K Run for Nepal in Flushing Meadows Park, Queens, New York.  All 140 some odd runners ran in their ‘superhero of choice’ costume.  You’ll never guess who EndorphinGirl™ and EndorphinSon™ ran as.  Okay, you guessed it.  They gussied up in their EndorphinGirl™ gear and endorphed their way around the course.  It was a  good run for a good cause.  Proceeds from the race entry were donated to Nepal Relief. And fittingly in some way or another race kicked off at the site of the ‘world globe’, which first appeared at the 1930 and then 1964 World’s Fair.  [Hey check out this link about Flushing Meadows Park to be reminded of what else can be found in the park; EndorphinGirl™ found it quite an interesting reminder of what is in her own neck of the woods:

On Saturday morning EndorphinGirl™ and EndorphinSon™ set out for another run.  This time they settled on a 10K.  The run was co-sponsored by the U.A.E. and the Kidney Foundation to raise awareness for a healthy kidney.  The run was in Central Park and was attended by a noteworthy 11,000 strong; quite a turn out.  Pre- and post-race there was opportunity to get a ‘taste’ of the U.A.E. at different kiosks set up offering free books, t-shirts and photo ops in a makeshift tent that had a flair of the Middle East.  Oh, and the raffle prizes post-race were ‘insane’.  It is quite interesting, the different ‘offerings each race event gives away, which naturally correlate to who the sponsors are.  It was a perfect Saturday to run in Central Park, EndorphinSon™ had a very good PR and EndorphinGirl™ was simply glad to finish another Central Park run!  She finds the Central Park ‘course’ to be a very challenging ‘run’ and she loves it.

EndorphinDaughter™ meanwhile is still on the other side of the world.  In fact, presently, she is on a short jaunt to Bali, where in between some beach and other activities she has kept her ‘endorphin on’.  For instance,   she rose early one recent morning to see the sunrise on Mt. Batur.  Rumors from afar are that it was a spectacular ‘viewing’.  Kewl, for sure!  It is just a few more weeks before she returns to this side of the world for a summer break.  Needless to say, EndorphinGirl™ and EndorphinBrother™ cannot wait to see her!

It is the close of another month of running as part of the runtheedge challenge. The Endorphins have collectively run 689.27 miles since January 1, 2015.  They are 34% of the way to completing the 2,015 miles in 2015.  Seven more months of running ahead of them to get there.  HeeHa!

EndorphinGirl™, thinks she too has her ‘endorphin’ back on, just like her EndorphinDaughter™.  She is actually blogging again.  HeeHa!

Before blogging off, check out the latest image from EndorphinSon™.  EndorphinGirl™ is contemplating some peaceful summer endorphin’ time.

Until next time, guest comments always welcome in guest book and keep on endorphin’.
