EnDorPhinPOWER™!  Oh yeah!  EndorphinGirl™ and EndorphinKids™ ran the run.  They completed their first family half marathon this past Sunday.  They were 3 runners of over 7000 participants in the Fred LeBow Central Park Half Marathon. http://www.nyrr.org/races-and-events/2015/nyrr-fred-lebow-manhattan-half

The EndorphinKids™ ran neck-in-neck for about five miles of the race thoroughly enjoying the experience.  They finished within seconds of each other.  It was quite an accomplishment.

Meanwhile EndorphinGirl™ clocked in about thirty minutes later, and she was pumped.  She was so pumped.  Her goal was to run without stopping.  Check – completed.  Those stems of hers kept one foot in front of the other the entire way.  And at a nice pace too!  Her dream was to run at least one half-marathon in Central Park.  Check – completed.  This half marathon required two loops around Central Park.  Her plan was to one day run a hilly run.  Check – completed.  A Central park run is nothing but hills.  Her hope was that she would feel no pain the day after the half marathon.  Check – completed.  While she experienced some mild tenderness in certain extremities in the upper leg and hip areas, she mostly felt and still feels extremely well.

She will, however, secretly confess that on the second round of the Harlem Hill in Central Park, she called in some of her reserves.  In fact she let her imagination run wild, and she envisioned that Vita Min, Sera Tonin and Adreena Lin were running side by side with her.  Her 'reserves' were in full blast.  And their ‘energy’ boost was exhilarating and provided a good lift during the race, particularly during the second loop of the Harlem Hill.  For those bloggees who thought, while you were reading the past few sentences, that she may have been hallucinating from all that running – she was not.  She was simply using her imagination! She promises!

An additional inspiration, this one in real-life form, was seen near mile 12.  It was none other than EndorphinGuy™ with a camera in one hand to snap a photo and a high five with another – and a great big smile of encouragement on his lips. So that's what he has been up to.  EndorphinGirl did not have time to stop and get the scoop from him about HIS endorphin challenges!

Finally, upon reaching the finish line, EndorphinKids™ (who had finished 30 minutes earlier) and EndorphinGirl™'s mamma were there cheering her on!  What a great way to end the race!

The Endorphins clocked an additional 39.3 miles since last week.  This was clocked all in one day.  Yes, you guessed it, these were all clocked on half marathon day.  They have no other miles to report since last week.  They have reached 152.85 miles so far in January.  Their aim is 167.9 per month, on average, to make their 2015 target for run the edge.  They are more than 7 percent of the way there.  Stay tuned. http://www.runtheedge.com/2014/12/run-2015-in-2015-challenge/

That’s all of the EnDorPhinPOWER™ blogging for this week.  But first a lovely image from EndorphinDaughter™.  Check out the lovely EndorphinFamily picture.
