Today’s blog is a miscellanea of a few updates including EndorphinGirl's™ running progress, logo and maybe something else that comes to mind as today's blog progresses.

In prep for the half-marathon (OMG which is quickly approaching!) EndorphinGirl™ continues to cross-train, and has managed to build a bit more endurance when working on the varying gym machines. Translation – she is out of breath less frequently.  It’s actually been going really well.  At the same time, she’s committed to running three times a week. Her most enjoyable run is at the track by the river for a number of reasons.  First, running outside with a river view is pretty and very refreshing.  Second, the track is cushiony and that is good for her because the pounding from running otherwise might bring back to life the tendonitis - even with those good @asicsGel-Kinsei4 sneakers.  And finally, it’s more inspiring because there are other runners out there too, chugging along.

She has had to run on the treadmill as well a few times, particularly given the continued snowstorm conditions covering her city and hence her favorite track!!!  Though the other day she decided to check out the snow status at the track.  One-fourth of the track was covered with snow so instead of NOT running at the track, she immediately took off and was able to run a little-more-than-a-semi-circle track run for 40 minutes.  She is finally up to 3 miles a run, which generally takes 30 minutes.  Since she could not calculate precisely how many semi-circles would equal 3 miles she decided to give herself a ‘time’ to run.  And her run was longer than usual and probably farther than usual since it was for 40 minutes.

This is a new way to run, instead of planning how many miles to run at a stretch, at least over the next few weeks, she is going to focus on running for a set period of time.  Tomorrow it will be 50 minutes - - - or so she hopes!

Next topic, is the EndorphinGirl™ logo.  Thanks bloggees who had a chance to place a vote. Your voice has been heard! And well done, you all agreed with EndorphinGirl™ ’s favorite. Option #2 which is reposted in the images section.  Stay tuned for ways of how she will use it!

Okay EndorphinGirl™ is still thinking of a third topic.  She feels at least three things must be covered today.  The-three-topic approach is something built into her DNA from all those years of working at Yesnikcm.  Some bloggees will understand.

Got it - the third topic is . . . Lent.  It’s that time of year again 40-days-and-40 nights of suffering.  Okay well she is exaggerating it is more like purging.  Yes purging which is good for the soul.  Purging you say?   When you think about it giving up something is like purging.  And that can feel good if done for the right reasons.   Like when you clean out your closets, organize them and get that satisfying-feel-good feeling!  That is an example of good purging.  EndorphinGirl™ has an opportunity to do this in the next week with the help of her uber-organized-super-arrangement expert friend Marol.  She is thrilled, just sayin'.

What are EndorphinGirl™'s purges?  Otherwise stated what did EndorphinGirl™ give up for Lent?  And will she go back after 40 days?  Stay tuned for the answer!   Meanwhile, in the spirit of her three-things-approach she did in fact initially decide on three.  However, since it was also Valentine ’s Day this week she decided one of her choices was no longer an option and decided, the heck with it and go with a two-things approach -maybe just this once, maybe not!

Purge #1 - Starbucks, not just the coffee and not just coffee only,  Starbucks overall, completely, nada, no communicato, nothing.  It’s time, at least for 40 days. Ah all the money to be saved.

Purge #2 – Potato chips. Maybe this sounds lame, but it’s a mild issue for EndorphinGirl. (This is a major confession, well confessions are also good during Lent, right?)  She can’t recall if she mentioned the stash of chipos she received for  Christmas from her daughter.  Well yes the chipo stash is gone, and she’s realized it is good to give it a rest, at least for the next 40 days plus for the balance of days after until the half marathon!

NonPurge#3 – Chocolate.  It just was not realistic.  First of all Valentine’s Day was yesterday.  There is just way too much chocolate to be consumed.  Second, she remembered such a
purge would actually not be good for her health because chocolate is an endorphin pleaser.  And finally, really, two purges is more than enough.

There you have it!  A short blog today so thanks for reading.  Happy Valentine’s Day-After, Happy Lent Season and Happy President’s Weekend.  (Well that could have been the third topic, three holidays in less than a week, whew!).
