Endorphin Girl™ and Jack Steel were recently travelling.  In their travels they bumped into some energetic, huggy, exuberant, rock-like-solid longtime friends.  Jack Steel suggested why not introduce them this blog around!  So in the next few paragraphs meet some old friends:  Adreena Linn, Vel Crow, Sera Tonin and Feld Spar.  Their pictures to follow in another blog!

Adreena Linn. Adreena Linn and Endorphin Girl™ have been friends since when they started working together in their early 20’s.  They worked together for many years.  During their early work years, Adreena always seemed to be around during not only the long work days but also during the days of constant ongoing business travels.  Adreena was influential in helping deal with stressful situations such as 12-hour work days, constant last-minute-short-term-ongoing deadlines and frequent domestic and international travel, which often happened at the drop of a hat.  She inspired Endorphin Girl™ and other colleagues during those years mostly by reminding them to monitor their intake of caffeine and sugar and late night happy hours.  It was great advice to get, particularly in your 20’s!  It was often followed! (Well the 20’s are the years we think we know everything ourselves!).  All the same she has been a great friend and no doubt helped prevent any deceleration of the awesome pace an EndrophinGirl usually moves at to accomplish!!!

Adreena has spent most of her career running a fitness center, in fact it is her own.  The gym is called ‘Not a Whim Gym’.  She teaches at least two classes a day, six days a week, typically at aerobic-like speeds!  EndorphinGirl has frequented the gym, and her favorite class is the spin class; and she will verify that the class is clearly not for those who think of working out on a whim (basis!).

Vel Crow.  Vel Crow is a high school friend.  Endorphin Girl™ and Vel bumped into each other on the first day of high school and their friendship has stuck together since!  When it comes to most of her opinions she is really unflappable, and this is something people love her for.  That said if you take a good position on something, convince her of it, she will come unglued in the sense of being objective, not in the sense of ‘coming unglued’!

Vel is a seamstress for the Stars (you know, the Stars in Hollywood) and is well-known for her small fastenings.  (Not fasting!)  Come on, you get it, fastenings - the type that consists of two strips of nylon fabric, one having tiny hooked threads and the other a coarse surface.  Each of Vel’s strips have a theme which may include anything from sports, to music, to nature, to anything!  What is really cool is that Vel is considering doing an Endorphin Girl™ fastening!  This is something Endorphin Girl™ has secretly been hoping for! Imagine having your own trademark fastening on a dress for one of the Stars! J

Sera Tonin. Sera Tonin and Endorphin Girl™ are childhood friends circa 1960 something.  They have lots of happy childhood memories playing bottle caps, jacks, jump rope, hop scotch and red light green light, at that big park on the northern tip of Manhattan.

While they keep in touch, Sera is particularly busy these days as a gastrointestinal (GI) specialist so they don’t see too much of each other.  So it was great to bump into Sera in these recent travels.  Sera’s ‘gut’ feeling from very early was to become a GI.  She also minored in the central nervous system (CNS) while in medical school so is well versed in understanding the CNS.  That training complements the ‘psyche’ things she needs to know as a GI, particularly as they relate to things related to appetite, mood and sleep ‘management’.  Sera believes they all go hand-in-hand with being a GI.  You get the idea, the foods we eat matter so much for so many reasons!

Sera is one of those people that has an infectious happiness about her, which sticks on to so many others, particularly

mutual friend, Vel Crow.  Sera's favorite snack is chocolate, the ‘food’ they say that has something? in it that makes you feel relaxed, calm, and happy. (Hmm, I wouldn’t know!!!!) She is known amongst her friends as the ‘calming friend’ who knows the latest new chocolate craze!

Feld Spar.  And finally Feld Spar who is a buddy of Jack’s. Feld is one of those people who is always helping someone who has done a ‘rock solid’.  He is an all-around good guy - always there in a time of challenge.  Feld’s signature thing about him are his cool Quartz watches.  The stones in them are simply stunning.  Feld is never to be seen without wearing one of his signature watches!  But there is more about Feld.

Feld has been married to his wife Crystal now for over 25 years, and they have two college age children. A son Rocky who is a freshman, funny enough, at Rock Valley College in Illinois; and a daughter Pebbles who is a senior at the University of Boulder in Denver.  Rocky's major is undecided, but guess what Pebbles is majoring in???

In his youth Feld was in a Rock band.  He and his buddies get together once every few years for a reunion.  Their band is called ‘Metamorphic Rocks.’  I suspect you can guess who his  favorite rock band is!?  Did you guess?  Yes, that's corret - the Rolling Stones!  By day, Feld is a geologist.  And for fun he loves to travel.  His most frequented travels have been to Italy, Turkey, China and Thailand, where he has uncovered unusual types of sandstones, porcelains and other cool minerals or mineral composites!

It should be noted that although Feld is quite busy in his everyday life, at times Feld is somewhat counter 'active' to an Endorphin Girl™ because one of his favorite positions is like rock sedimentary, but only when he is watching sports games that Rock Valley College or U of Boulder teams are in.  Still he is very cool. Rock on Feld Spar!
